Thanks to Dentistry IQ and the group at PennWell for picking up this Series on Dental Materials.
With their assistance we hope to reach a larger audience and to be responsive to a wider group of Dental Material topics. Suggestions on future subjects are welcome.
Thanks again PennWell, you guys are terrific!

I would like to see research (independent unbiased) that compares the bond strengths of different CURRENT bonding agents (with and without enamel etch in cases of the self etchers)
ReplyDeleteI would also like to have some meaning to the MPa rating....what number is the critical point? (minimum value of X= ? means a good bond)
Thank you for your comment. The problem with bond strength testing is that the results have not been reliable and reproducible. This is perhaps part of your frustration. There are a number of other tests, such as crown removal and post removal, from extracted teeth which can provide better results. Until we have more reliable testing, clinical results after several years remain our best source of information. We can discuss this in further detail, if you like. Thanks again.
